Did you know...

Did you know that you can launder flash drives... I found one in the washing machine an hour ago ... I did not load the machine and it did not contain my clothes! Anyway I stuck said drive into my computer and have been listening to some rather awful music ever since... He has a nice video track that accompanies the music but I can't type or do anything else useful if I'm watching the techno light show!

I thought I would introduce you to Emkins my other cat today ...Zoomies doesn't see why anyone needs to meet Emm when they know him... Emm went to the vet on Tuesday and wailed the entire way there even on the ferry when the car wasn't moving... however, ( he was totally quiet and quite subdued coming home, so peaceful! EMM stands for Enie Meanie Minie (no Moe) He was one of a family of three kittens at the SPCA. He was the Minie and weighed about 20 oz when we brought him home... He certainly doesn't weigh 20 oz anymore!

Jelly fish beads...

I was trying to make a bead to match something.... yes it matches but it's much to nice (in My opinion) to waste on a beaded chain.... I entered a contest called "Use the Muse" I'm trying to make a peyote stitch chain to hang the 'muse' and a Firebal lbeed from...but since my peyote bead work is still rather suspect ... (and someone whos name I will not mention misplaced my how to bead book, when he was moving things to drywall the ceiling...) I'm having some issues co-ordinating everything!

And I'm not wasting what I consider to be one of the more stunning beads I've ever made! So if you want to view the other sides of Jelly from the Black Lagoon it can be found in my etsy store!

Snow snow go away.....

In case you hadn't figured it out I'm home! A mere 24 hours late If you want to find out how much fun I had during that 24 hours check out my rant for Feb 22, 2009... My suitcase containing my ski boots weighed in at exactly 50.0 pounds... I was SO impressed!

I actually thought when I left that I would come home to a greatly reduced pile of snow... I was so wrong! The front yard really is gone... my perennials certainly won't die from lack of snow cover!

This was what the yard looked like on Saturday when I got home.. Check the railing in the next picture!

And to the right on your screen is what it looks like NOW!!!!

Well according to the snow shoveler we got another 10 -12 inches of snow last night... All I know is that I was trying to watch an Agatha Christie movie Pocket full of Rye last night and the Satellite dish quit half way through! Fortunately I've read all of her books many times and more or less know who did it! May have to read the book again to find out for sure which of the dastardly males did it!

Gord told the installer that putting the dish where he put it wasn't a good idea... this is the third or 4th time it's quit since we got it in December!

I fixed the link to the book written by my One World One Heart winner scroll down to my previous post!

And the winner is....

For the One World One Heart contest

I used a random number generator to pick my winner... I only had 195 entries and the winner was

KELLY SNELLING She entered yesterday...

I tried to cut and paste but I'm visiting family in Alberta and doing this on a MAC.... and it won't stick the comment in the text box.... I am not MAC literate!

Congratulations Kelly! I commented on her blog that she was my winner because I can't send emails easily on this computer... hopefully she will get back to me!

I just checked her site and noticed that she is joint author on a this Jewelry book ... sorry can't get the auto link feature to work! (Link fixed Feb 23)

"A Charming Exchange " 25 Jewelry Projects To Create & Share ... by Kelly Snelling and Ruth Rae being a genuine book Junkie I may have to go out and buy this book....

I can't wait to see what she does with my heart!

I won another award?

I have recently joined the world of facebook, flickr, and twitter and started writing my own blog... (I've had a website and rant for over 4 years but it mostly stayed under the radar of tagggers....) if you're reading this you are reading my blog...

One thing that all the social network sites all have in common is tagging... Is The Marie Antoinette Award an award or another tag? On my rant I got tagged to do 7 factoids about me... then there was 25 factoids about me on facebook, then flickr wanted 16 interesting things about me with a picture of me...

Now I have to give this award to 7 friends who I think are worthy of the award or is it 7 friends that are as much of a sucker as I am they can choose. I received the Marie Antoinette award from a fellow glass artist Beadwright and will pass it on to 7 other women... I run a gallery in the summer that sells work done by canadain women I won't be so discrimantory in their origins for this as I doubt if I know 7 Candian female artiost bloggers!

It seems that no one really knows what this award is for. So if anyone out there knows or knows who started it please leave a comment about it.
Now for the rules of this award. The rules are as follows...

1. Please put the logo on your blog.
2. Place a link to the person from whom you received the award.
3. Nominate at least 7 or more blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on your blog.
5. Leave a message on their blogs to tell them.
Seems pretty easy to me!
My choices were made because each of these women are strong of spirit and heart and are some of the finest artists I know. May Marie Antoinette's strength and courage be with them always.
1. Broken Teepee
2 Priscilla speaks (yea OK priscilla and Broken Teepee share a computer!)
3 Studio Marcy
4 Glass Addictions
5 Form Fire
6 Jill

Ran out of time so only 5 lucky people and one goat got selected!

Ground Hog day

Well when I got up it was cloudy... but the sun shone for a few minutes right around 10 am ... so since I'm not sure what time our local ground hog sticks his head out of the ground I don't know if we have another 6 weeks of winter or not! (actually I don't even know if we have ground hogs here or not!) I did find this little guy wandering around though! You have to click on his den to get him to come out!

Will he see his shadow?

.... I think it will take at least 6 weeks to melt all the ice & snow that we've got this winter!

And a bead showing where I would
like to be ... think that there
is room to stick my beach towel
on the sand beside that palm tree?
Wonder how hard it would be to find someone to deliver me a Pina Colada once I figure out how to get my towel onto
Paradise Beach?
